About me:

I have been with the firm since 1993 and qualified in October 1995. I became a partner in 1999. I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist in private law, children’s work and domestic abuse and have High Court experience. I also head the Residential Property team.

What can I do for you?

Every week is different in this emotional, challenging and rewarding area of law. I specialise in private law children’s work and have experience in all areas, from disagreements on where a child goes to school to child arrangements orders (formally residence orders) and removal from the jurisdiction.

I am a trained collaborative lawyer and offer specialised advice on divorce, enabling clients to sign a contract to avoid the trauma of court proceedings.

I have extensive experience working on pre-nuptial contracts and co-habitation agreements and can also provide financial advice during a divorce.

I also head the Residential Property team, enabling me to provide additional services to my family law clients. My dual role also ensures I can offer an understanding ear to my conveyancing clients, regardless of their circumstances.

Why come to us?

Here at Thomson Webb & Corfield, we go the extra mile for our clients. If you come to us you will receive sensitivity and personal attention. It is great to work in a firm where, if an issue does come up which is outside my area of expertise, I will have a colleague who has the necessary expertise to help.

I like to feel I make an impact. It is great to see people turn a corner in their life or to see people who have had restricted contact finally get access to their children.

What clients say:

“Thank you Alison for all your help. You are wonderful and I can’t praise you enough. We feel very reassured that we have found approachable yet professional Solicitors.”

“Your humanity, your intelligence and your perseverance in the face of entrenched, institutional views of families in trouble has far reaching and really, really important outcomes on the lives of many helpless people.  Above all, you enabled me to live the life I chose for myself and I will always remember you for that.”

I’d just like to say what a pleasure it has been dealing with you on this. Your advice has been timely, well-judged and professional; you’ve been calm, measured and good-humoured throughout. Thank you!
