About me:

I qualified as a solicitor in 1976 at the Cambridge office of a Huntingdon law firm. In 2001 I set up my own practice, before joining Thomson Webb & Corfield in 2004. I am also a governor of St Ivo School in St Ives, chair of finance.

What can I do for you?

While I undertake a mix of work at Thomson Webb & Corfield, I predominately work in the Corporate and Commercial Services team. This includes:

  • Buying and selling companies and businesses
  • Agreements between business owners
  • Commercial contracts
  • Terms and conditions of contracts
  • Fundraising

My clients come from across the region, as well as the capital, and range from sole traders to public companies, within industries from retail to manufacture.

Why come to us?

What makes me different from many corporate lawyers is my very broad experience. I have undertaken a variety of work over the years and I am very focused on the important issues. I have been practising in Cambridge since the late 1970s and I still have some of the same clients. People say they come back to me because I am pragmatic and I do not make a meal of things.

Thomson Webb & Corfield is a firm which cares about individuals. We are a small team, so you are assured a personalised service.

What clients say:

“Over the years I have used Philip’s services a number of times for company mergers, acquisitions, formations and latterly a disposal. He has never been anything short of outstanding and is not only pragmatic and utterly discrete but has also always ensured that angles are covered, often when I didn’t even know they existed. I doubt that there is a better corporate lawyer currently practising in Cambridge.”
